I Think the End is in Sight

Yesterday morning, it looked like pretty much the full-on worst case, with Matthew's projected track coming up just ashore on the east coast and crossing the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay mid-day Saturday.

We started going into full storm prep mode, removing the bimini and mainsail, and adding cross bracing straps to the solar panel mounting frame.  Well, I figure this was like carrying an umbrella. Do it, and the rain never comes. And, sure enough, this morning brought a completely different forecast:

Now its looking like Matthew will slow down, turn East, and wander around slowly.  This is good news for folks north of Cape Hatteras, but we'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings!

In any event, its looking like, one way or another, we'll be able to (finally!) get underway on Monday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  1. Sorry about the delay. Hopefully things will be clear enough to sail early next week.
